Queen Elizabeth II ‘The Equestrian Portrait’ Crown Set 1953-1977-2002-2022 – £189

Queen Elizabeth II is the only British monarch ever to have celebrated a Platinum Jubilee. She is also the only monarch for whom Britain has produced commemorative crown coins not only for her coronation, but also for all of her major jubilees. Three of those jubilees have included a heritage-style portrait on horseback – not the usual side profile of her head but an ‘Equestrian Portrait’ depicting her seated on horseback.

This set brings all four of these British crown-sized coins together; for the 1953 Coronation, the 1977 Silver Jubilee, the 2002 Golden Jubilee and the 2022 Platinum Jubilee. The coins in this set have been selected by our specialists as they have survived in choice quality, making them desirable to collectors and a great gift idea. They are all the cupro-nickel versions in Uncirculated quality.

Queen Elizabeth II 1953 Coronation Coin and Stamp Set – £199

This special collectors set includes all ten British coins issued in 1953, and all four commemorative stamps issued for the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II. Many of these coins and stamps are important collector’s items in their own right, but they take on added significance as a set. The crown, as one example, is the first of Queen Elizabeth II’s reign and was only issued for 1953.

All ten coins in each set are hand selected quality and are virtually as good as the day they left the mint over sixty-nine years ago! The stamps are in mint unused condition – with no unsightly postmarks obscuring the design. This is an unusual opportunity. However, a determined effort by the Hattons of London heritage specialists has meant they can now offer this set to new customers to gift to themselves or their loved ones.

Queen Elizabeth II Our History-Making Monarch Silver Coin Set – £649

This is a year of great importance as we celebrated the Platinum Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II, the very first in British history. This underlines her remarkable reign, one that saw her become both our Longest Reigning Monarch, and also our Oldest Reigning Monarch. We are fortunate to have lived through a history-making reign, the likes of which may never be seen again.

This set brings together two British silver Proof coins that celebrate our Late history-making monarch. The first coin in this set was issued in 2015 to mark the moment Her Late Majesty became our nation’s longest reigning monarch, and the second was released during the celebrations for her 95th birthday. You may have missed these two important coins when they were first issued, but now you have the opportunity to own them together; what a fantastic gift!

The 2017 Double Portrait Platinum Wedding Anniversary Gold Sovereign – £899

2017 marked the Platinum wedding anniversary of Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip; an incredible 70-years of marriage.  This is the first time in British history a monarch has celebrated this milestone and it is something which we will probably never see again. To celebrate this first ever anniversary, a world first sovereign was issued.

In an unprecedented move, Prince Philip’s contribution is acknowledged as he takes his place alongside Her Late Majesty on this royal gold coin. This is the very first time double portraits have appeared on the gold sovereign. It is also the first time in the 200 years of the modern sovereign that a royal consort has had their portrait on a gold sovereign.

The 2022 Queen Elizabeth II Tribute Gold Prestige Sovereign Set – £1,599

We were all saddened to hear of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on 8th of September 2022. In tribute to the life of service and devotion of Queen Elizabeth II, a new sovereign series was announced, with both sides designed by Jody Clark, designer of the Fifth (and final) portrait of Her Late Majesty that appears on Britain’s current coinage.

Containing 15g of solid 22-carat gold, this four-coin prestige set features a portrait of Her Late Majesty in the tiara and necklace of her wedding day, and wearing a brooch gifted to her by her late husband HRH Prince Philip. This portrait will only ever be used on this series of tribute sovereigns, making it an important commemorative piece that is perfect for a gift.

Queen Elizabeth II Platinum Jubilee Lifetime Gold Sovereign Set 1926 and 2022 – £1,999

Queen Elizabeth II is the first British monarch ever to celebrate a Platinum Jubilee, and this two-coin set pays tribute to her remarkable achievement by pairing a 1926 gold sovereign (the year of her birth), with a 2022 Platinum Jubilee (one-year only design) BU commemorative sovereign. The differences between these two sovereigns just go to highlight what a remarkable reign she had!

The 1926 gold sovereign in this set features St George and was a ‘currency’ sovereign from an era when the pound was backed by gold. The second coin in the set was for this year’s Platinum Jubilee and features an interpretation of the Royal Arms; a quintessential emblem of the British monarch that has represented royalty for centuries. This is the first time that the full British coat of arms has been depicted on a gold sovereign ever!
