In commemoration of the Platinum Jubilee for Queen Elizabeth II this year, here at Hattons of London we have released an ultra-rare One Kilo Coin, at the price of £99,000.00. For the first time, we are giving our audience a look at this incredibly unique coin…
Just three of these coins have been minted, and they have all now been snapped up by eager collectors as the nation celebrates the first ever Platinum Jubilee for a British Monarch.
Measuring 100mm in diameter and 1kg in weight, the coins have been struck in solid 24 carat gold, meaning that each coin has been produced in the highest purity gold possible – an astonishing 99.99% pure! This coin centrepieces ‘Her Majesty’s Graces’ range – the only collection released in 2022 to include a rare kilo coin. The collection features exclusive portraits by celebrated British coin designer Jody Clark, whose side profile portrait of the Queen features on all current circulated British coinage.
Designed to celebrate Queen Elizabeth II and her most enduring personal qualities – wisdom, strength, devotion and leadership – these sovereign coins are inspired by a historic design created by Victorian coin designer William Wyon, who was the Royal Mint’s chief engraver until 1851. The traditional design, which was originally created to celebrate King George III’s long reign, features classical female figures or ‘Graces’ each holding an object to represent a particular quality.
The design features a side profile of the Queen on the obverse and on the reverse depicts the Unbreakable League of all Four Graces showing Her Majesty as a mature Queen marking her long reign. From left to right, the Graces hold a sword to represent devotion, an orb representing strength, an owl to represent wisdom, and arrows to represent strength. The sash runs around all four of the Graces.
The Her Majesty’s Graces Range has now reached the sell out guarantee date. However, we still have an incredible selection of new strike sovereign coins which you can view HERE.
