The Golden Jubilee in 2002, celebrating 50 years of her reign, was both joyful and poignant. The celebrations included a “Party at the Palace” concert, modernising the monarchy’s image and showing its ability to adapt to contemporary Britain.
The Diamond Jubilee in 2012, marking 60 years, was a truly global celebration. It showcased the Queen’s unwavering dedication and the enduring affection of her people. Highlights included the spectacular Thames River Pageant, a special service at St Paul’s Cathedral, and worldwide Commonwealth events.

SPECIFICS OF THE COINS AND BANKNOTE INCLUDED IN THIS SET
- The SILVER (25TH ANNIVERSARY) JUBILEE commemorative Twenty-Five pence crown in silver proof – major British events are celebrated with the issue of a crown-sized coin. In 1977 the Queen’s Silver Jubilee was celebrated with only the second commemorative crown in the decimal era. The design featured Her Majesty on horseback on the obverse, and on the reverse were items of regalia from the coronation ceremony. This coin was issued into circulation, but the version in this set is the sterling silver Proof quality version.
- The GOLDEN (50TH ANNIVERSARY) JUBILEE commemorative Five Pound in silver proof – major British events are celebrated with the issue of a crown-sized £5 coin. In 2002 the Queen’s Golden Jubilee was celebrated with a superb design that featured Her Majesty on horseback on the reverse, and on the obverse was a new a new facial profile of Her Majesty wearing an ermine robe, the Royal Diamond Diadem and pearl drop earrings, turned slightly away from the viewer. This portrait did not appear on any other coins. This coin was issued into circulation, but the version in this set is the sterling silver Proof quality version.
- The DIAMOND (60TH ANNIVERSARY) JUBILEE commemorative Ten Pound note – although all of the UK uses the same coinage, the three main Scottish banks are still allowed to print their own banknotes. In 2012 the RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) released a commemorative design £10 for the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II. The note featured a special serial number prefix ‘TQDJ’ (The Queen’s Diamond Jubilee), along with a special cypher both on the front, and on the rear of the note a montage of portraits of The Queen. A superb design that was very popular and rapidly vanished from circulation! The note in this set is in UNCIRCULATED condition.
This set is in a handsome wooden presentation case with both coins protected in capsules and the banknote also in a protective acrylic display holder.
