Description

This is the first British crown to celebrate a Diamond Jubilee but as a tribute to the only previous Diamond Jubilee, the crown features the same design style as the official 1897 commemorative medal of Queen Victoria.

The obverse features a contemporary portrait of Queen Elizabeth II based on the bas-relief sculpture outside the Supreme Court in London. The reverse is a new interpretation of the First Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II and it is positioned on a wreath and ribbon. The edge is inscribed with the legend A VOW MADE GOOD. Featuring a portrait of Her Late Majesty on both sides, this is a rare double portrait issue. Designer: Ian Rank-Broadley
