The Queen is a self-confessed bibliophile.
Having a great love for books, Her Majesty launched ‘The Reading Room’ during lockdown which was an Instagram platform allowing others to discover new books and meet the authors behind them. In February this year, it was relaunched as a charity and renamed ‘The Queen’s Reading Room’. She has stated that her favourite book of all time is ‘Pride and Prejudice’.
She is a fan of all things dance.
Her Majesty takes Silver Swan ballet classes to keep fit, and is also a huge fan of ‘Strictly Come Dancing’. She has had two opportunities in the past to dance with judges Len Goodman and Craig Revel-Horwood.
Her Majesty’s 75th birthday was one to remember!
Queen Camilla made her Vogue debut in June 2022 in the run up to her 75th birthday, and her 75th birthday edition of Country Life was labelled the best-selling of all time.
She has a variety of different hobbies.
Amongst other hobbies, Her Majesty has a strong passion for gardening, and even produces her own honey! This honey is produced at her home in Wiltshire, and is then sold at Fortnum & Mason to raise money for charity.

King Charles and Queen Camilla were married on 9th April 2005 in a civil ceremony at Guildhall, Windsor. Her engagement ring belonged to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother, and since being married to the King, Her Majesty has become Patron or President of over 100 charities!
The Queen introduced the Wash Bag initiative.
In 2013, Queen Camilla began a ‘Wash Bag’ initiative, which provided Sexual Assault Referral Centres (or SARCs) with wash bags containing toiletries to be given to those who are referred to these centres. Eight years later, in 2021, Her Majesty became Patron of Nigeria’s first sexual assault referral centre.
She has personal links to military organisations.
Her Majesty’s father, Major Bruce Shand, has connections to various military organisations which she has links to, and her father was even awarded two military crosses! The Queen has also attended many occasions with veterans, serving soldiers and officers of the 9th/12th Lancers.
Her Majesty has a limited choice of jewellery.
The Queen has access to a wide range of beautiful and historic royal jewellery. However, she doesn’t actually have her ears pierced, so therefore opts to wear clip-on earrings instead.
