Here are Hattons of London, one of the many things we pride ourselves on is providing expert knowledge. When becoming a client of ours you will have your very own dedicated Account Manager, a Coin Specialist, there to help you shape and build your coin collection.
Today we are talking to one of our Coin Specialists, and spending five minutes asking the questions we think you would want to know.
How did you find yourself becoming a Coin Specialist?
I was working as a customer service advisor in the middle of doing my teacher training. I found talking to clients was a passion rather than a job, so I took an opportunity to join the coin department. And I’ve never looked back.
What does a day in your working life look like?
Each day is different. A lot of research is involved and there’s always something new to learn whether that be about a brand new product launch or a rare coin we have managed to get access too from hundreds of years ago. I speak to my clients regularly whether that be advising them of a new product we have availability of or just talking to them about their collection.
Do you have a personal collection of coins? If so, do these coins have a personal significance?
I don’t actually have a huge collection myself, but I have got a few Queen Elizabeth II coins that I intend to pass down to my children.
What has been the most memorable coin or set you’ve had the pleasure of selling?
What advice would you offer a new client if they are just starting their coin collection?
There’s so many coins to choose from and there’s so many different reasons why clients buy different coins. So my advice would be different depending on why they were buying. But I would advise to purchase any Queen Elizabeth II coins at the moment as there is a huge demand for them and are getting almost impossible to acquire.
